International collaboration on application of AMS in radioecology (AMSIR)
Mobility initiative for students and teachers “Improved skills and competences of students and academics in application of AMS in radioecology (AMSIR)” aims at establishing a bilateral collaboration between Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and Department of Nuclear Chemistry FNSPE CTU in Prague. Project is focused on interconnection, and knowledge and skill exchange in the field of radioecology and accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). Within the project, organization of seminars, excursions and mutual visits are planned. It is provided by Czech National Agency for International

International School in Nuclear Engineering 2013
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that we are continuing our International School in Nuclear Engineering that will be held in our Institute from November 18 to 29, 2013 in Cadarache, from December 2 to 13, 2013 in Saclay then from January 13 to 24, 2014 in Marcoule.
This school offers six one-week doctoral level courses of one week each and will present the international state–of-the-art in the main topics of nuclear engineering : reactor core physics, thermal hydraulics, materials, fuels, fuel cycle, nuclear waste.

In case of an agreement between the student and UTK / Řež, DNC will offer this research topic as a bachelor, diploma, or Ph.D. project for the academic year 2013/2014.

The invited lecture on the topic Chemistry of Superheavy Elements in JINR Dubna will be presented by Dr. Nikolaj Aksenov from Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia).
Reconstruction of the 4th floor
Currently the 4th floor of faculty building Břehová is under reconstruction. In connection with the reconstruction sits some people (especially doctoral students) in other rooms in 3rd floor, if necessary, contact the secretary of the department Mrs. Kotasová.

IAA'12 Radioanalytical Methods Seminar
The IAA Radioanalytical Methods annual seminar organized by Jan Marek Marci Spectroscopic Society (Instrumental Analytical Methods Group), the Czech Chemical Society (Nuclear Chemistry Group) and the Department of Nuclear Reactors (CTU-Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering) was held on 27 June 2012.

Science week at “FNSPE”
This year FNSPE has organized its traditional event for sixth-form students - Science Week. As part of this the Department of Nuclear Chemistry will present a lecture, for those interested, this Sunday entitled, Chemistry and Radiation.

New Master’s Students
