Scientific and research activities:
Main research areas:
- Separation methods in radiochemistry including
- partitioning of minor actinoids from high level waste,
- development of new separation materials, mainly solid extractants and composite ion exchangers,
- processes for actinoids co-conversion to precursors for nuclear fuel production,
- separation of radionuclides from operational liquid radioactive wastes from nuclear facilities,
- soil decontamination.
- Radioanalytical methods with the emphasis on the development of new methods for
- determination of difficult-to-measure radionuclides in radioactive wastes or in the environment,
- sample preparation for radionuclides with very long half lives for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS).
