Scientific and research activities:

Main research areas:

  • Separation methods in radiochemistry including
    • partitioning of minor actinoids from high level waste,
    • development of new separation materials, mainly solid extractants and composite ion exchangers,
    • processes for actinoids co-conversion to precursors for nuclear fuel production,
    • separation of radionuclides from operational liquid radioactive wastes from nuclear facilities,
    • soil decontamination.
  • Radioanalytical methods with the emphasis on the development of new methods for
    • determination of difficult-to-measure radionuclides in radioactive wastes or in the environment,
    • sample preparation for radionuclides with very long half lives for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS).
